How the Racket Selector Algorithm Works

Our tennis gear finder matches rackets to players by focusing on physical stiffness, static weight, swing dynamics, and arm joints. Racket specs behave differently depending on player swings:

  • Static weight limits: Beginners should use frames under 285g to prevent shoulder fatigue, intermediates around 300g for stability, and advanced players over 305g to redirect heavy incoming pace.
  • Stiffness and Flex: Rackets with RA ratings below 63 absorb impact shock, protecting forearm tendons from tennis elbow. High stiffness rackets (RA 68+) offer easy depth but transmit more vibration.
  • Swingweight and Head Size: Higher head sizes (100+ sq in) create a wider margin for error, whereas compact sizes (98 sq in) yield directional accuracy on fast swings.
